Brett joined the firm in April 2018. He represents clients in a variety of litigation matters, including personal injury, products liability, wrongful death, insurance, and commercial transportation cases.

Brett studied History and Business at the University of Alabama and subsequently graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law. During law school, Brett served as the Managing Editor of The Journal of Legal Profession and his work on counsel’s decision-making autonomy in the context of criminal appeals was published in the Journal.

Brett is admitted to practice law in all state and federal courts in the state of Alabama and the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Brett was named “Rising Star” in Birmingham Magazine’s 2018 Top Attorneys peer review survey and was also named to About Town Magazine’s Best Attorney’s list in 2018.

Brett is an active member of the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association. He currently serves on the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Executive Committee and is the Chair of the annual Orange Beach CLE. Brett also serves on the Junior Board for Magic Moments, a Birmingham organization devoted to creating magic moments in the lives of Alabama children suffering from chronic and life-threatening illnesses.

Brett is married to Taylor Patterson Holsombeck of Birmingham. They are members of Canterbury United Methodist Church. In his spare time, Brett enjoys playing golf, duck hunting, and visiting the beach.
